The death anniversary is being observed today of the Pakistan’s famous singer Nazia Hassan. Pakistan’s first pop star singer Nazia Hassan passed away after 35 years of her life, but the fame she touched is the dream of every artist.

Personal Life And Starting Of Nazia Hassan Singing Career

Personal Life Nazia Hassan was born in Karachi on April 3, 1965. Nazia Hassan started her singing career in the late 70s when she was working as a child artiste in PTV shows.

Her professional life actually started when she recorded a song as a lead singer for an Indian film Qurbani,  which was made in 1980 and in 1981 Nazia Hassan won a Filmfare for it.

After that, Nazia Hassan released her first album titled Disco Dewane in 1981 which touched the heights of success.

Peak of her singing career

After that, in 1988 and 89, Nazia Hassan and her brother Zoheb Hassan hosted the show on PTV called Dhank.

Music 89

Both the duo of brother sister hosted a fantastic show of its time named Music 89. Music ’89 was the first ever pop music stage-show to be aired on Pakistan TV.

Cause of death

Nazia Hassan at the age of 35 years died in London on 13 August 2000, after battling with lung cancer. The Government of Pakistan conferred upon Nazia Hassan the Highest Civilian Award Pride Of Performance for her services to the music industry of Pakistan.

Song in movie student of the year

A revamped version of Nazia Hassan and Zoheb Hassan’s song Disco Deewane were used in the movie of Karan Johar’s directed movie name Student Of The Year’s featuring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra back in 2012.
