Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 17-member national test squad for the Test series against Bangladesh.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 17-member national test squad for the Test series against Bangladesh. The one-man national Test squad will be led by Shaun Masood while Saud Shakeel will be the vice-captain.

Saud Shakeel has been named vice-captain in place of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was the vice-captain for the tour of Australia, with a view to handling Shaheen Shah Afridi’s workload in a very busy season.

The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25, while the second Test will be played in Karachi from August 30 to September 3. Pakistan team has to play 9 Tests and 14 T20Is from August 21, 2024 to April 5, 2025 next year, Pakistan team has at least 17 ODIs in this season.

Pakistan’s 17-member squad includes captain Shan Masood, vice-captain Saud Shakeel, Abdullah Shafiq, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Muhammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Saeem Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfraz Ahmed and Shaheen Shah Afridi, while Amir  Jamal’s Inclusion is subject to fitness.

Jason Gillespie will serve as head coach for the first time in a red ball match.


Kamran Ghulam Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Huraira have been selected for their excellent performance in domestic cricket and Pakistan Shaheen.
