PTA Blocked 183 Apple And Android Mobile Application

PTA Blocked Dozens Of Mobile Applications And URLs Under WMS System.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said till now 183 mobile applications and 2369 (Uniform Resource Locator) URLs have been blocked in Pakistan by Authority under Web Monitoring System (WMS).

Sources said that the PTA’s WMS system uses intensive monitoring technology to control internet traffic and the PTA has started blocking illegal content under its new system.

It is now possible to find out which content has been posted from where and what its original origin is. The new system can control and block content on various websites and social media platforms.

Source claims that they have the ability to access the original posting location of any content and have access to block or control it.

Internet services in Pakistan have been suffering from disruption and slow speed of internet especially on mobile networks for a long time and this issue of slow internet is related to the fact that Pakistan is installing a firewall on the main gateway of its internet to monitor and control the traffic and then can be filtered and routed to users although

PTA said that the slow internet speed was because of fault in submarine cable which is providing internet to the country.
