Defence Day September 6, Addressing The News Circulating On Social Media The Ministry Of Information And Broadcasting Issues Notification Regarding Public Holiday
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued a notification related to the news circulating on the Internet that September 6 will be a public holiday regarding Pakistan Defence Day.
A lot of fake news was being shared on the internet about the public holiday on 6 September. On various social media platforms X especially that public holiday will be observed in Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Defence Day, but the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting denied the news. Clearing the air notification issued, according to the website Fact Checker an official web page of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for exposing Fake News.
According to the Ministry’s Fact Checker, “disseminating fake news is not only unethical and illegal, but also a disservice to the nation. It is the responsibility of everyone to reject such irresponsible behavior.” The fact checker published .
September 6 is celebrated across Pakistan to commemorate the 1965 war and to show solidarity with Pakistan’s forces and the day is named as Pakistan Defence Day.
