WhatsApp and Facebook services facing disruption for mobile data users in Pakistan.

Facebook and Whatsapp

Facebook and Whatsapp most used social media platform and messaging application facing disruption in Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan announced earlier that the internet services will be restricted in Ashura days. But the user’s of social media platform Facebook and WhatsApp are still facing the issue using social media on cellular data, however broadband services are working fine.

User’s complain through social media accounts that Whatsapp is not working properly, they are unavailable to send voice messages and have issues in downloading data on WhatsApp. Facebook is still not responding properly from the last 2 days.

The disruption has been ongoing for a couple of days, but no telecom company shared an update on the issue.

stated that they have not received any formal complaints about the issue. The telecom authority is however investigating the matter after media reports brought it to their attention.

No telecom company issued any update on this matter and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) stated that they didn’t receive any complaint regarding this issue but they are working on it to resolve the issue after the issue highlighted in media reports.

Maybe this is happening because of ongoing Microsoft operating system disruption after the cyber security managing company CrowdStrike was hit by a malfunction in its new software update.

But there is no official announcement bay PTA or any telecom company till now.
